 Grandmother love 👵👩👶🙏


Months ago I was in a situation where I saw what looked like a mother and  daughter walking across the parking lot to enter Planned Parenthood. I offered a flower to get their attention. They took the flower but went on to enter Planned Parenthood. A few minutes later the older of the two women came out. I called out to her and asked her what was going on? She shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know. I called her over and said “do you really not know, or do you actually know that she is having an abortion”. She said she thought her daughter was going to have an abortion. I asked her if she supported this abortion and she said that she did not want her to have it but didn't know what to do. I told her to go back in and get her daughter. She said she didn't know what to say. I said “pray for God's words on your way in and use them”. 

A little bit later she came out with her daughter saying God was amazing. Her daughter actually left Planned Parenthood with an IV start in her arm. We got her set up to go to Obria to have that removed and talked to her about all of the ways we  would support her if needed. This support included hosting a baby shower for her. 

I didn't hear anything from the daughter but I did hear, once in a while, from the mother over the past couple of months. She would send a message now and then just to keep in touch. 

 Last week the mother reached out with photos of her new grandson. This is the grandson she helped save. This is the grandson who has hope. Through the strength of the daughter and mother (now grandmother) this child will have an opportunity to live a life. This grandmother saved her grandson`s life. The grandmother stopped by our outreach building to pick up some clothes and other items that they needed and we will host a small shower online for other items. 

It is such a great thing to see how things can transpire with faith in God and also with faith in each other.

  The Pass 🙌 I met Anna at the Fresno Fair where Right to Life was hosting a booth. She was working there and stopped at our booth. She was looking around. She lingered, in my opinion, just a little too long. She was asking lots of curious questions. My pro life advocate intuition started to work so I asked her what was going on and if she was pregnant. Anna said she was. She thought she might be about four months pregnant. I invited her to sit and talk. She told me her story as it stood. She is a mother of two already and the father of the children is involved. He's leaving the military for medical reasons and looking for his next venture. He doesn't think this is a good time to have another baby because they already have one that is only seven months old. She knows she wants to keep the baby because she believes in choosing life but she is nervous and feels unsupported. High Five ✋  My coworker and I stand outside of Planned Parenthood almost daily. We truly are trying to save a life or two. Actually when it comes down to it we are  trying to save families. When you do this day in and day out and it gets difficult because we measure our accomplishments the same way we measure any accomplishment. We look for results. If nobody changes their mind then we feel like we are failures. There are a lot of feelings of failure because we dont always get to know the outcome of our presence. . Fortunately there are two of us working so we keep each other from going too far down the path of doubt. We also remind each other how much Satan is involved in this.  The flip side is that when someone does change their mind it feels like you hit a home run. We  even do funny things like high five when someone leaves after telling us they are changing their mind and keeping the baby. Last week we talked to two women in a row who chose life.
