The Pass πŸ™Œ

I met Anna at the Fresno Fair where Right to Life was hosting a booth. She was working there and stopped at our booth. She was looking around. She lingered, in my opinion, just a little too long. She was asking lots of curious questions. My pro life advocate intuition started to work so I asked her what was going on and if she was pregnant. Anna said she was. She thought she might be about four months pregnant. I invited her to sit and talk. She told me her story as it stood. She is a mother of two already and the father of the children is involved. He's leaving the military for medical reasons and looking for his next venture. He doesn't think this is a good time to have another baby because they already have one that is only seven months old. She knows she wants to keep the baby because she believes in choosing life but she is nervous and feels unsupported. We talked about all of the resources that are available to her and all the things Right to Life will do to help. Her face perked up and she said two kids is hard so what's another baby to chase around for awhile. We exchanged numbers and I kept in contact and also invited Sarah into our connection.

On Thursday we all agreed to meet for Anna`s ultrasound. We crowded into the room at Obria Medical Center to see what we could see. We waited while the sonographer swept the instrument back and forth across Anna`s belly. I started to recognize there was something not quite right so I asked the sonographer if we should step out so he could talk to Anna. he said yes and that he wasn't finding a baby so if she'd like he could do an internal ultrasound. Anna said sure so waited outside.

Sarah and I waited and talked and thought maybe Anna might not be pregnant despite the fact that she`d taken several pregnancy tests and hadn't had a period since May. Anna walked out smiling and said she wasn't pregnant and we said ``well looks like you got a “pass” and she said “actually that's what she was thinking”.  We headed out for lunch to celebrate and hook her up with resources for her existing family and promises to keep in touch. Fortunately Anna had already decided on choosing life so she left with no regrets or guilt . Now she is also armed with the resources and support for those faced with crisis pregnancies and other pregnancy related situations. She got a pass and a win at the same time.
