🙏🙏🙏 Faith 🙏🙏

Faith can mean so many things. It can describe how you pursue your spiritual life. It can be another way of describing your confidence in someone's abilities. It can also describe the way you trust in God`s plan. I had a test in all of those areas. I struggled in each place. 

I met a mom who was considering taking the abortion pill to abort her child. We talked and then exchanged numbers. She still seemed intent on entering the abortion facility. The next thing I saw was her leaving the parking lot in a car never having gone into the building. I followed up with a text asking what happened. She said she changed her mind and didn't go in. Later that weekend I texted her a couple more times encouraging her. After that I started to lose hope. Sometimes if the mom doesn`t respond it means they`ve changed their minds again. I started to not want to reach out but I did. She responded saying she was glad I did keep sending messages because she`d made another appointment but because of my text she didn't go. 

Later in the week I met another family. A young girl was pregnant and her grandmother brought her to the clinic. She said she didn't know what else to do. I reminded her that she did know what to do and that she just had to do it. She went into the clinic and told her granddaughter to come out. The workers at the clinic told her to leave. Interestingly that`s what she needed to keep going. So she went back in and out came her granddaughter. We talked but she still went back in. I lost hope, so much so I had my coworker take over the sidewalk post. A little later Sarah texted me saying come out because the whole family was outside. Turns out mom got her ultrasound showing she was 19 weeks pregnant. Grandma was crying but they were all on board to come talk at our building. They came. We made a plan. We contacted our collaborative partners Catholic Charities and Pregnancy Care Center. This family left with hope and food and a new playpen from Catholic Charities and an appointment for more direction at Pregnancy Care Center. 

Although I lost a little hope I gained a new understanding of faith in many ways. I think everyone involved also did.
