The rise of focus on human trafficking including sex crimes in all forms has caused those of us working and volunteering as pro life advocates or activists to become more aware of signs that a woman entering Planned Parenthood might be at risk. I dont think we can know for sure, all of the signs but my radar goes up when I see certain behavior. This behavior might include someone walking into the clinic with another person who seems to be pressuring them in either by physical force including a hand on the back or holding a hand and leading the person in. I notice when it looks like someone might want the flower I am offering but the other person with them gets in front of the person and refuses the flower or leans in to say something and the woman quickly looks away from me. Other times the woman has her head down and is hurrying in trying to not to look around and someone is waiting in the car for her. The worst most obvious was a seeming young person with a hoodie tied tight around her face in the back of an old sedan with two men sitting in the front seat. This haunts me. 

This perception of risk escalates when I talk to someone and they tell me that they have to go back to a man because they have no other place to go. Many times these women have other kids. They fear for their safety. They fear for their own safety. 

I didnt want to believe that  I was not only witnessing fearful, desperate women seeking abortions but also that they may be acting out of fear for their lives because they are part of a sex trafficking organization. .  It deeply saddens me to know that some of these desperate women are suffering from abortion because they are also being coerced and forced to do so regardless of what they actually want to do. For all of those who profess to want to end human trafficking and sex trafficking, it sure seems counterintuitive to send a message that an abortion center posing as a health care center positioned to help women is also acting as a shield for these evil people selling women for profit and gain. It is apparent that if I am hesitant to recognize the evil of all of this while I stand day in and day out hoping to save lives, that the general public is happy to sit dumb and numb to this. It makes me wonder if we rallied more so around the trafficking issue we might be able to shed light and truth on what is happening in and around abortion facilities.  We need to be sharing what we are seeing regardless of whether we “want” to see it or not.

 👿 C onflict 😇 We had a terrible day. It was one of terrible sadness and a feeling of helplessness. The situation happened with a couple with a young baby and a baby on the way. The mom didnt think she could handle another baby. The father said he was willing to do whatever was needed to support the family. He`d told her exactly this. Unfortunately the mother to be was already inside the Planned Parenthood facility.  Two of us were talking to the father. While he comforted his baby.He was taking care of his baby and going back and forth into Planned Parenthood to try to get his partner to come out. He went in three times. Our security guard coached him on what to say. He came out each time without her. He continued to talk to her on the phone and this gave me an opportunity to talk to her.  Nothing worked.  🏆 High Stakes   🏆   It`s a difficult thing to stay motivated in a mission with such high devastating loss stakes. Some of me thinks that I should be able to go out on the sidewalk and talk to anyone and everyone entering planned parenthood for an abortion and show them the support they need to choose life and then they will. Obviously it doesnt work that way. In fact it doesnt happen often. There are reasons big enough to write a separate blog for each. The reasons aren't what I'm addressing today. I'm writing to celebrate a long time ago. Four years ago my former coworker and I met a young couple experiencing a crisis pregnancy. We were new at our mission/jobs. We were learning.
